My favorite draught beer for the last year or so is Galway Hooker. You can find it in Anseo on Camden Street and of course The Porterhouse and The Bull and Castle.

According to www.galwayhooker.ie its available in Dublin in these pubs:

The Bull and Castle, Christ Church, Dublin 2
The Porterhouse, Temple Bar, Dublin
The Porterhouse, Nassau St, Dublin
Anseo, Camden Street, Dublin 2
Ryans of Parkgate Street, Dublin 7
The Palace, Fleet Street
O'Neills, Suffolk Street
Lucan County Bar, Lucan
Cassidy's Bar, Westmoreland Street
Pygmalion Bar, South William Str

I discovered up at SeptemberFest that they have a dark version too which was exceedingly tasty indeed!

My favorite bottled beer since buying it in the Drink Store in Stonybatter last Sunday is The Porterhouse's Plain which Ive had many times in The Porterhouse over the years but Ive never tasted such a good stout in a bottle before.

Porterhouse Plain did win best stout in the world a few years ago!

Perhaps its great flavour is partly due to the fact that its unpasturised and bottle conditioned!? ..... unlike those other common or garden stouts ....
I really enjoyed the rich taste and didnt really notice the typical bitterness of a stout, probably because there was so much else going on.

Other beer news

The Porterhouse has started a bottling plant so you can buy its Plain and Hop Head beers in some off-licences such as The Drinks Store in Stoneybatter and I also had a great pint of Porterhouse Plain on draught in a pub called "The Bartender" on Park Street in the centre of Dundalk. The pub has been going for a number of years and has never had any Japanese/Diageo/Guinness beers, EVER!!!
And who in their right mind would want any of them when a pint of plain is yer only man!!
